Joyce is a fourth year Honours (B.Sc.) Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour student specializing in Music Cognition.  She began taking piano lessons before the age of 4, and attained her ARCT performance diploma with the Royal Conservatory of Music.  As a continuous knowledge seeker, she is on the journey to complete her ARCT advanced pedagogy diploma.  Nonetheless, she plays in charity orchestras as a violinist.  Joyce is presently the co-president of McMaster’s Music Cognition Society.  Last year, she really enjoyed working on the musical emotion project in the MAPLE Lab, which encouraged her to pursue her thesis research related to music’s ability to evoke emotion.
